La casa se convirtió en un polo cultural que organizó la solidaridad internacional con Chile y se convirtió en una "embajada informal" debido a la ruptura de relaciones diplomáticas de México en protesta por el golpe de estado en Chile de 1973. La casa de Chile en México produjo variadas publicaciones como boletines y revistas
