Biographical history
Nacido en Alemania el 2 de agosto de 1932, Pedro Chaskel es uno de los principales precursores del llamado Nuevo Cine Chileno (1955 - 1973). Se nacionalizó chileno en 1952, y realizó estudios de Arquitectura en la Universidad de Chile entre 1951 y 1954.

En diversas manifestaciones sociales alrededor del mundo, la imagen del rostro del guerrillero argentino Ernesto “Che” Guevara está presente en carteles y lienzos. Esta emblemática imagen fue tomada por el fotógrafo Alberto Korda durante el acto de homenaje a las víctimas del sabotaje al barco “La coubre”, el 5 de marzo de 1960.
